beyond the cage: prison ministry

Your Origin Story
WHAT’S IN A NAME? The name B T C tells the mindset of the Founder of this Ministry. The Founder’s mission was and still is to encourage and empower his family’s spirit, soul and body. To accomplish this goal he began to write and his writing was in the form of poetry. He named one of these collections “Beyond the Cage: Tears of a Father.” He dedicated that book to his youngest son. This collection of poems was more like a love letter and an instruction manual. He wanted his son who did not have the opportunity to bond with him as his sister and brothers did when he was home with them. This was his way of reaching “beyond the cage.” His primary goal was his youngest son but later all that changed. He realized that not only his son needed encouragement but the many other sons and their incarcerated fathers as well. With that thought in mind he began to think about the ministry. The Holy Spirit inspired him to write a devotional guide for the incarcerated. His plan for this devotional guide, which is named “It is Finished: Grace for Today” is to encourage all incarcerated men and women throughout the nation. Also, to have a desire such as that is easy but now he must find an avenue to fund that desire. Therefore, Beyond te Cage: Prison Ministry was established. This ministry is literally thinking outside the box.
