Beyond The Cage: Prison Ministry

This prayer has been a part of this ministry for over thirty (30) years. Before this ministry was named “Beyond the Cage,” the founder was passing this Warfare Prayer on just as instructed. This is the story of how the Warfare Prayer came to be a part of Beyond the Cage: Prison Ministry.

The founder had established himself as a man of God while in prison. One night while sitting in his bunk, another brother approached him and gave him a copy of this Warfare Prayer. The prayer was typed on a single sheet of white paper, and it appeared to have been passed around many times. It was faded, and some of the words were hard to read; nevertheless, this prayer was powerful. After he finished reading, he gave it back to the person he had gotten it from. The man said, “If it blesses you, then pass it on.” The founder decided to have it restored. He sent the prayer home to his sister with instructions to retype and make it better. She did exactly as he asked, and this Warfare Prayer became the first tract of this ministry.

The wording of the prayer has never changed. However, the prayer is no longer on a sheet of white paper. To make this prayer more of a convenient tool, it was reduced and placed on cardstock, and the wording was typed on both sides. Now there was enough room for the prayer of salvation to be on the prayer tract. The cardstock allowed the tract to be folded into a nice 3.5″ x 2.5″ tract that can easily fit into a wallet or pocket.

This Warfare Prayer has also been converted into the Spanish language.

Also, the charge has not changed: if this prayer has blessed you, then pass it on, be a blessing.
